Thermo Fisher Scientific is going to pay $3.1 billion to buy Olink

On Tuesday, the U.S. medical equipment manufacturer Thermo Fisher Scientific (TMO.N) said it would purchase the Swedish company Olink Holding AB (OLK.O) for $3.1 billion. This move is part of the company's efforts to expand its life sciences portfolio, which aids in the development of new drugs.

Thermo Fisher said that it will pay $26.00 in cash for each common share of the Swedish company that specialises in products for protein analysis.

The mid-2024 closing date indicates a premium of nearly 74% over Olink's Monday closing price.
