On Friday, Tenet Healthcare (THC.N) announced plans to sell three hospitals and related assets in South Carolina for approximately $2.4 billion in cash.
The company's stock increased by 4.9% in premarket trading, reaching $61 per share.
Under the arrangement, a North and South Carolina hospital network, Novant Health, would buy Tenet's hospitals in Jasper, Beaufort, and Charleston counties, as well as connected physician offices and other related hospital activities.
